Remembrance Sunday 

Next Sunday 12 November is Remembrance Sunday and we will be attending the Portslade parade as usual.
The plans are as follows:
We will meet at St Nicolas Primary School, Locks Hill at 10.15.
We will march to Easthill Park where we will attend the service which will finish at around 11:20. 
We hope to see you there. 
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them

Adult Volunteers Needed

Would you like to gain new transferable skills, experiences and knowledge? Would you like to make new friends? Are you up for an exciting challenge?  If you answered yes then come and join the adventure with 6th Hove. We currently have vacancies across all age ranges for trained uniformed leaders or occasional helpers. You can commit to every week or occasionally help out. It’s up to you.

LEGOLAND!

On Saturday 11th June, 37 Beaver scouts attended the ’30th Beaver Scout Celebration Day’ at LEGOLAND, Windsor. Lots of fun was had by all in attendance and the Beavers were very well behaved. We are looking forward to our next trip with the Beaver Scouts. Thank you to everyone who made the day possible.

Out and about

The Thursday Beaver colony has recently been on two trips out.  Two weeks ago we went rock pooling on Rottingdean Beach at low tide.  The Beavers were enthusiastic about finding creatures but their enthusiasm appeared to make a lot of the wild life run for cover!  However a few crabs were found and captured in buckets, photographed and then carefully put back.

 
We then went on a walk to the Chattri Monument high up on the Downs after learning all about the Indian soldiers who were cared for in the Brighton …

Brownsea Island

On Saturday 24th May 2014, some 96 people; comprising of 15 beaver scouts, 29 cub scouts, 28 scouts, 8 explorer scouts and 16 leaders gathered at Portslade station to catch the 07:40 train to Poole. With one cub scout arriving just in the nick of time, we were on our way for what was set to be a camp to remember.
